Profiles of Florida State's Best and Brightest

Advice From Graduates

Jessica Wente
The people you meet in your time at FSU will be some of the most influential people in your life. It’s where I met my best friends and my future bridesmaids. It’s where I met mentors who I still keep in touch with today. It’s where I learned from some of the best professionals in my field, and where I gained the clinical experience that ultimately led me to what I’m doing now. I’d encourage others to invest in other people during their time at FSU. These relationships can be an incredible support for the rest of your life!

Interacting with my professors and peers has had the most influence on my personal and professional development. Whether it was a three-minute conversation or a two-hour talk over coffee, learning to take advantage of the insight, constructive feedback, and wisdom of others has helped me immensely. Utilize the experience, perspective, and knowledge of the amazing people around you. Never be afraid to ask questions.
